A Life Dedicated to Shoemaking
Stefano Borella’s story starts in Vigevano, Italy — one of the world’s most important footwear hubs. He entered the craft in 1979 at age 14, learning directly inside factory design and technical departments, then formalized his mastery at ARSutoria (Milan).
After years collaborating with leading designers — including the legendary Andrea Pfister — and contributing to global luxury houses, Borella relocated to the Lugano area of Switzerland. In 2011, he launched the luxury men’s line carrying his name: a brand where classic forms meet daring finishes.
Today, SB is recognized for Italian handcraft and its unmistakable hand-colored patina technique — producing shoes and sandals that feel like wearable works of art, engineered for real-world comfort.
